10 point Interview about football; with Sol Campbell and George Carney Football Development Manager British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS).

1. Female football. This has changed a huge amount in the last ten years. Women's football is a different style of game to men's. Is there football for women at your school? Check out this site: http://www.thefa.com/Womens/
2. Choose a good coach over a new pair of "it" trainers. There are now new FA qualifications to specifically train a younger age group. What level is your coach at?
3. Winning isn't everything. Playing against a better team than yourselves will improve your game.
4. Try and play in every position. Just 'cause you are big and tall doesn't mean you should automatically be Centre Back. Sol, whilst working through his career, has played in every single position: It helps you understand the roles of your team mates and you'll be come a better player.
5. There are academies all over the UK but the statistics of becoming the next Theo Walcott or Wayne Rooney aren't good. 6. Success in football requires both physical and mental maturity. You should be having a nutritional diet and keep your fitness up. Doing weights and building up isn't hugely important until you are about 15.
7. Go watch the player who is in the position you play. Copying a move, or practising a trick might be fun, but won't help you improve if you don't understand why they do what they do.
8. Has the kit become too important? Why are there more brilliant players coming out of South America who have no real structure apart from the fact they everybody plays it all the time, anytime and make goal posts out of their T-Shirts.
