Kick Boxing: Savate (French)

The French have their own version of Kicboxing, Savate, which was invented and developed by sailors in the rough and tumble confines of port towns and sailing ships. Apparently they used kicks to fight each other so they could hold on tight during heavy seas. Today Savate is highly skilled, refined martial art.

 

Kick Boxing: Lethwei (Burmese)

Burmese Kickboxing, otherwise kown as Lethwei is particularly brutal. It is the only legal ring sport that allows the often fatal headbut. Here's a clip of Lethwei.

 

Kick Boxing: Bokator (ancient Khmer kickboxing)

Bokator is perhaps of the oldest of all forms of kickboxing around. Some say Bokator is the father of South East Asian and Thai Kickboxing. Carved stone reliefs depciting this martial art can be found in the ancient Khmer temples of Cambodia.
